The University of New Mexico’s School of Engineering and its Department of Physics and Astronomy are educating the aerospace workforce of the future. In addition, the University of New Mexico’s Institute of Meteoritics is one of the first institutions in the world devoted to the study of meteorites. It is a premier center for research on the origin and early history of our solar system and the evolution of the planets.

In proximity to White Sands Missile Range, NMSU has a strong reputation as a science and technology institution. NMSU bears the distinction of being a Carnegie 1 Research Institution for the Advancement of Teaching. Eastern New Mexico University, Roswell
ENMU-Roswell's Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) program is the only FAA Approved Part 147 AMT program in New Mexico and the only Cessna certified composite training programs in the U.S. Our instructors bring over 100 years of combined experience in the aviation industry to our program. Our high-tech environment includes lecture laboratories, modern facilities and a variety of training aircraft including an MU2D, Cessna 421, 310A and 210E, Beech E50, Starduster and Bell Helicopters.
